11.02.2002 Things have been good and sometimes not so good. I guess it’s just the rollercoaster that is life. For some reason I have felt a lot busier than usual, but can’t seem to recall everything. You know how it goes sometimes. So I am going to try and just highlight what I can recall of the things I’ve been doing over the last month. I’m going to be a special guest on an internet show called Short Movie Party on November 4th at 4PM. They’re going to show three of my movies, THE OTHERSIDE, LOST IN HEAVEN, and GROUP HOME. I will be interviewed in studio and there is a live chat room as well. I’m pretty excited about it. Should be fun. I‘ve added some flash to the Scott’s Universe website to spice it up some. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. I’ve recently started reading TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. What’s really humorous to me is that you couldn’t have paid me to read in years past, but I have found that reading helps me creatively. I also wanted to catch up on some of the classics. Been working out more and feel better because of it. Losing weight doesn’t hurt either. I haven’t done much on the BREAKING UP… rewrite, but I have been working on several new short movie scripts. One is for a friend of mine, Foster, who asked me to write a short that he could shoot. This last month, I was flattered when, out of the blue, I was contacted by film school student that was struggling to find a good short screenplay to shoot and wanted very much to use one of my screenplays for his project. One of my close friends, Bryan Hopkins, and I sat down and wrote a song together. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself, and I look forward to writing more with him. LOST IN HEAVEN finished its run on the Catatonic Films on-line festival. There were some strange things that happened there so I’m not sure about the final results. I have either finished first or second. I do very much appreciate all the support and votes I received from everyone. The movie has also been invited to be apart of two more DVD compilations.

9-25-02 My oh My. It's been some time since my last entry here. Now the world knows why I can't seem to keep a personal diary. Never get around to writing anything in spite of constant thinking and talking. So let's revue, what I have been doing? Well, first off I haven't done nearly as much writing as I should have. SHRUG. I did read Jonathon Livingston Seagull and Of Mice and Men. Both good books. I am still on the NOHO Arts District website for a second month. Nice surprise. Both GROUP HOME and LOST IN HEAVEN are in an on-line film festival at catatonic films it would be great to have as many people as possible go vote for one of them. Might have a shot at winning some money. One of the most extraordinary things happened for me. I was able to go to a Camp Silver Creek reunion a couple of weeks ago. I attended the camp then worked there for several years. Maybe many. The place was beautiful. The people were still great. It was a great way for me to recharge my batteries. I felt wonderful following that weekend.

8-13-02 So I am the artist of the month on the NoHo Arts District website. www.nohoartsdistrict.com/art/ Would love to sell a few paintings, but have had no bites thus far. Not too worried. Don't know what I'd do with my walls if I did sell them. Finished reading The Catcher in the Rye. Wasn't to blown away by it. Probably because of the time it was written. To me what old Holden Caulfield went through in the book was a Thursday to me. It did inspire me to start a book of my own though. Maybe an update to Catcher... Work sucks. So tired of people with such little interest or insight dictating what I should do. Will make for wonderful stories. Fictionalized of course. Still doing the re-write for BREAKING UP... It seems to be going well. Won't really know what works until I have the opportunity to hear it out loud.

7-26-02 I've been pretty busy recently. Though I have to admit that I always seem to feel that I could do more. I have been continuing the rewrite on BREAKING UP... and spoke with a friend about helping me with some sort of financing for the shooting of this project. Cross my fingers, but regardless I plan to shoot it within the next twelve months. I've continued painting. Not sure right off hand how many I have completed right now, but there are enough to put up next month on-line where I'm going to be presented as an artist of the month. Hoping to sell a few pieces there. Again crossing the fingers. Came up with an idea for an "HBO" type of show. More on that later. I have also been reading pretty regular lately. Finished Michael Moore's book, DOWNSIZE THIS. Really enjoyed it. I'm about half way finished with CATCHER IN THE RYE. Right now it reminds me of punk rock... I don't think that I'm really that angry about things. But I will finish it. I guess that's about it for now. Thanks for taking the time to read.

7-2-02 Lost in Heaven played on-line at www.shortmovieparty.com and I did a call interview. If you are interested the show will repeat several times a day through the month of July and can still be viewed. I've added several new paintings to the site that can be seen in the paintings section. Continued support of asa cruz and their website.

6-19-02 Let's get the negative out of the way... I was sick, but not that bad. Thanks again to Vitamins C and E. My laptop stopped working but was repaired very quickly. And I didn't get much BREAKING UP... re-writing done. So I guess if that's the worst that I recall, things are going pretty well. Now the more positive... I was contacted by several didn't places regarding putting my short movies in various forums. An on-line festival, another DVD compilation, a film festival, as well as a on-line show where I've been asked to be a call guest. I am also going to be featured artist on the NoHo Art District website in the next month or so. Hopefully I'll be able to sell a couple through the site. I've also continued the work on the asa cruz EPK. I shot more footage and have begun the editing process.

5-22-02 I had planned on writing more often, though I honestly I don't know if anyone is reading. I have been continuing the re-write on BREAKING UP... the feature. I like what's coming out of it. I recently finished another short script. I'll try and post it when I have chance to do a polish on it. During a wonderful vacation to Maui (big thanks to my amazing and beautiful host, Stephanie) I was able to see quite a few art galleries. Which inspired me to do some more of my own paintings. I've finished two more that I'll be adding to site as well.

| 4-17-02 I've recently added two new movies to the site. The Otherside and The Joust. Both are viewable with broadband. The completion of these movies puts me in a position to do a re-write on BREAKING UP... the feature. The plan is to shoot this script some time in the next year. Once the re-write is complete the focus will turn to pre-production and finding some sort of financing. So if you want to invest let me know. I'm also finishing up on a couple of short screenplays. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot them as well. | |
